Honestly, this update should have been a YouTube short, but there are more than “one” or “two” things that will be of major interest in the film, so I guess we’re doing a formal update. While our favorite Italian film genre remains giallo, poliziotteschi is rapidly moving up the ranks. And Double Game, also known as Torino violenta, features one particularly impressive (and I’m not quite sure how plot-relevant) sequence.

Conveniently, the film presents the “low-key” stuff before reaching the best part. Now, usually I try to determine the name of the actress in question, but this one was tough, as all the actor thumbnail images on the IMDb page show “no photo,” and most of the stills in the IMDb gallery are not tagged with the actors appearing in them. So, enjoy “Actress One” in (I think) a rabbit fur jacket.
Next up… Actress Two, in what may be rex rabbit, but again, not 100% sure on this one. It’s a fairly brief appearance.
The 45-minute mark is what brings us here today. Do I know why the filmmakers decided to insert about 30 seconds or so of a “fashion shoot” for a furrier into the film? No, I do not. I suspect it may have something to do with the roughly 2 seconds of toplessness that sneaks into the “montage” of lovely ladies in large fur coats. I also don’t know why a furrier would be taking topless pictures for their ad campaign, even in “swinging 1977.” I don’t recall much toplessness in what I was slicing out of old Vogues. In fairness, they were American Vogue; perhaps I missed the boat on Italian Vogue…
Oh, and how do we know it’s a fashion shoot for a furrier? They cut to (but do not tap) the sign:

According to Google: still a real furrier in Turin, Italy. (The original Italian name translates to “Violent Turin”. Probably not a coincidence.) I look forward to them sending me a free brochure with their latest topless inventory photos.
Mere moments later, another notable item catches the eye: a rather large blush fox fur coat worn by… Actress Three. Given its two-minute proximity to the fashion shoot in the runtime, it may be connected somehow. I know, crazy, right?
So, again, this should have been short, but here we are, summing up a 2.4% performance. Out of those two and some change moments of fur, the shoot only lasts about 30 seconds, though the big blush fox lingers slightly longer (but not by much). Ironically, I believe the rabbit jacket at the start received the most attention.
