This is, at least until I find another one, the last full Armando Bó/Isabel Sarli update. Since I wasn’t paying attention, I would say this one is probably the second best, which is why it’s the third one I’m reviewing. The second was third best, and the first was first.
Fuego – Fur Fashion Stats
- Fur Runtime: 15:06 minutes
- Film Runtime: 84 minutes
- On-Screen Ratio: 19.17%
Find-a-Fur: Fuego, 1969
I somehow lost my notes on this, but the short version is:
- 33:30 – the blue fox coat sequence starts here
Fuego – The Film
Fuego is basically The Insatiable Widow, but she’s not a widow. Technically, from a strictly chronological standpoint, The Insatiable Widow is Fuego, only she’s a widow. However, this is the order I updated them in, and I’m sticking to it.
Fuego – The Furs
Fugeo begins with a pastel mink worn by Laura (Isabel Sarli), who quickly decides to make a move on the maid, then shifts into hetslop mode.
Laura only wears her blue fox fur coat once, but she makes it count. This sequence takes up most of the 15-minute fur runtime. It also serves as a template for what Bó would do in The Insatiable Widow about five times in different fur coats. She walks around town, flashes various men until one drives her out into the forest to enjoy nature.
I am as sure as I can be that this is the same blue fox fur coat from The Insatiable Widow, based on the horizontal pelt pattern.
Finally, at the very end of the film, Laura briefly wears a black mink coat.
I’ll stay firm and, since 19.71% is not 20%, keep this out of the 20% club, but consider it a spiritual entry. The blue fox coat dominates most of the total fur runtime, as it should. If I were the conspiracy-minded type, I might conclude that the blue fox coat belongs to Miss Sarli, considering it appears seven years apart in her films. Additionally, I might even speculate that Armando was the one who gave it to her.
