Superhero films did not spring into existence in the late 2000s. Back in the 1960s, many were (attempting to) cash in on the runaway success of a DC property: the Adam West Batman series. This particular slice of cinematic Italian cheese tosses in another classic 60’s knockoff: James Bond, as our titular hero, is both a super and secret agent of sorts.

Argoman – Fur Fashion Review
We are here for a couple of reasons, but the first one is pretty minor. Part sidekick, part love interest, Samantha (Nadia Marlowa) mostly follows Argoman and his other sidekick/butler (na-na-na-na-na) Chandra around. She does so for a couple of scenes while wearing some fairly conservative mink jackets. Her wardrobe is somewhat subdued overall, most likely to further contrast her with our central interest in the film Argoman.
That would be Jenabell, self-proclaimed “Queen of the World,” the film’s antagonist. Dominique Boschero chews some scenery as the Bond-level mastermind who is… fashion-forward. She wears a litany of haute couture outfits, a few of which include fur. The first is a full-length mink coat and hat, which one wears while stealing the Crown of England.
She briefly appears in a spotted coat while “seducing” our hero, something I doubt takes much effort. There is an actual plot-relevant reason for her to bone Argoman. Look it up if you crave details, but suffice to say, Argoman’s one weakness is his refractory period.
While robbing a bank in Paris, Jenabell wears a chinchilla coat and… what I can only acknowledge is a “chinchilla-styled wig.” Honestly, props to the film’s stylists for going, “What if her hair matched her coat,” and kinda pulling it off. Obligatory mention: she whips out the bad-girl cigarette holder to fire up a “knock-out gas” cigarette to kick off the heist.
Finally, and sadly most briefly, this white fox-trimmed dress appears in a single shot. It is the most exotic of her fur outfits, and we lose out by not having the opportunity to enjoy it far longer.
The grand total is about seven minutes of fur, though I should report a not-insignificant amount of that is “good girl” Samantha and her minks as part of wide group shots. The few tantalizing closeups of Jenabell are worth it, though. The final total is a respectable 7.8% on the runtime. I doubt Jenabell will find her proper place in the pantheon of “iconic” fur-wearing bad girls, but she deserves a spot.
