Two crappy genres (for fur fashion) that sometimes go great together. Yes, American slashers and Christmas movies aren’t great places to find furs, but sometimes you get lucky. Silent Night, Bloody Night is that some time. Surprisingly, it also connects with another entry on this site: Factory Girl, as many participants were connected with Andy Warhol. 

Silent Night, Bloody Night – The Film

Pretty standard: “The real estate agent did not disclose the property used to be an insane asylum” plot. I’m not sure about the legalities of that, but I’m fairly certain it is at least unethical. A rash of knife-shaped lead poisoning ensues on Christmas Eve. The date is pretty much the only thing about the movie that has any relevance to Christmas.

Silent Night, Bloody Night – The Furs

Meet Ingrid (Astrid Heeren), but don’t get too attached. She and her sugar daddy arrive at their newly purchased murder mansion wearing this stroller. I am not quite certain what it is; maybe sheared coyote? Maybe sheared fox? But it looks nice.

I can’t condone making long hair fur shorter, but it’s not too bad, and it receives a few nice shots, including brief use as a comforter in bed. 

It’s a slasher, so Ingrid doesn’t make it past Act 1. We pick up with Diane (Mary Woronov). Diane is the mayor’s daughter and a mink enthusiast. 

She is also the final girl in this effort, so we’ll be seeing slightly more of her jacket for the remainder of the movie. 

The numbers are decent for this one, though I preferred that the furs be reversed for overall screen time. Or, hear me out, both were fox. I am in my mature phase, so I will acknowledge that there are those who will prefer the mink jacket look. They are wrong, but I will acknowledge them.
