It’s Edwige Fenech time again, though there is a bit of a twist here: she is not being chased by a knife-wielding maniac. Miss Fenech pivoted to comedy in the late 1970s. The first entry on this blog was her comedy, Asso, which remains one of my all-time favorites. La moglie in vacanza… l’amante in città (Wife on Vacation… Lover in Town) sees her co-headlining with another fellow gallio vet, Barbara Bouchet.

Combining two of the biggest sex symbols of the 70s in one film was a great choice, sadly the fur fashion does not quite keep up. This is especially odd as it’s from 1980. The only “80s fox” shows up at the very end. While the film’s fur fashion is somewhat “conservative,” it is displayed for almost 10 minutes. That’s enough to crack the 10% runtime mark.
Valeria (Barbara Bouchet) does most of the fur-wearing in this film, which is another decision I humbly disagree with. She first wears a spotted fur coat, which suffers a small wardrobe malfunction, forcing her to change into the dark mink she wears for much of the remainder of the film. They both give a very 60s vibe for an 80s film.
Giulia (Edwige Fenech) wears less fur on screen, most of which is a similarly conservative dark fur that is likely mink. Fortunately, the Fenech magic sweeps in at the very end of the film (literally), and she can be seen in a full-length white fox coat and hat just before the credits roll. Bonus points: she’s next to Valeria and her mink.
